OFFERS & PRICING

PPV pricing in chat: what can you actually test?

Useful PPV pricing starts with a clearly described offer, a creator-approved price range and a record of previous purchases. There is no universal price that works for every audience. Test comparable offers with defined recipient groups, then compare net revenue, unlock rate and complaints rather than celebrating the highest single sale.

Build an offer ladder, not a pressure ladder

Organize approved content into genuinely different offers: an entry item, a more substantial set and a premium option where the creator wants one. Write down what each includes so the price difference has an understandable basis.

Custom work needs separate approval, a scope and a delivery expectation. Do not imply that prerecorded content is being made live or personally for a fan when it is not. A higher price is not a license to make a stronger false promise.

Change one variable at a time

If you change the price, preview, audience and send time together, you cannot tell which change mattered. Define comparable groups and keep the offer description stable when testing price.

Record delivered offers, unique recipients, purchases, gross receipts, platform fees and reversals. Decide the evaluation period before the send and allow time for refunds to appear. Small groups can produce unstable results; do not turn one test into a universal rule.

Use several metrics together

Unlock rate is purchases divided by the chosen offer denominator. Revenue per recipient can rise while unlock rate falls. Read both alongside complaints and later engagement so a short-term sales change does not hide poorer experiences.

Fansly’s official PPV guide documents offer and broadcast statistics for that platform. Use the corresponding platform records; do not assume that two platforms define “viewed,” “sent” or “earned” identically.
