BUYER’S CHECKLIST

Chatters vs AI chatbots: what to ask a vendor.

When comparing human chatters with AI chatbots, ask who sends messages, what the platform permits and who handles mistakes. Automation can reduce some manual work, but speed does not prove compliance, accuracy or better retention. This buying guide focuses on vendor due diligence; the service comparison explains the broader human, AI and hybrid trade-offs.

Request a workflow demonstration

Have the vendor show how an incoming message becomes a reply. Identify whether a person reads the full context, whether approval is meaningful and whether messages can be sent unattended.

Use fictional difficult cases: a request outside the price list, a question about who is replying and a fan declining an offer. A polished greeting says little about how the system handles uncertainty.

Ask for the exact permission, not a badge

A vendor claiming “platform compliant” should identify the relevant official policy and explain how its workflow fits. A software partnership logo or a human approval toggle does not establish that claim.

Fansly documents native automation separately from its AI restrictions. Its AI guidance addresses direct AI interactions without human oversight. We found no blanket authorization for an OnlyFans AI chatter in the retrieved terms. Treat unanswered policy questions as unresolved.

Follow the data

A tool that reads the entire inbox for a narrow task may create more exposure than the benefit justifies. Keep access proportional to the approved job.

  • Which messages, media and fan details are copied?
  • Which companies process that information, and where?
  • Can training on private account data be disabled and verified?
  • Can access and stored data be removed at the end?
  • Who is notified if a reply or data transfer goes wrong?

Compare the cost of supervision

Human teams require training and review. Automated systems also need monitoring, correction and incident handling. Include those costs, along with tool subscriptions and any revenue share, in the comparison.

Run a defined evaluation against your own baseline and stop conditions. Do not use a vendor’s demonstration as proof of results on your account.
